　　蒂姆·波顿的未竟之愿

　　《科学怪狗》这部动画是波顿在迪士尼拍摄的第二部3D电影，前一部是《爱丽丝梦游仙境》。《科学怪狗》是一部翻拍的电影，其原作是波顿的同名真人短片。而在计划翻拍的讨论中，这部电影被波顿定为“黑白的定格动画”。影片早早就立项了，2005年，乔思安·麦克吉本就为影片撰写了初稿的剧本，后来，这个剧本得到了波顿和约翰·奥古斯特的精心打磨。要把《科学怪狗》用定格动画的方式搬上银幕，一直是波顿的一个心愿，因为在他的眼中，如果把《科学怪狗》这个故事拍摄成一部真人长片的话，会显得有些夸张。他说：“对我来说，拍摄《科学怪狗》的动画，一直是一件大事。我觉得定格动画、黑白是这个题材最好的表现方式。故事里的人物、动物和怪物，都可以恰如其分地被表现出来。如果是真人电影，则会显得有些过头。虽然这是一个老题材、老故事，但是当我重新在这些内容上工作的时候，还是会有全新且特殊的感受。”

　　无论从故事题材、人物设定还是电影样式上来说，《科学怪狗》是一部典型的波顿电影，里面有波顿式的人物、波顿式的情节还有波顿式的风格。对于影片，波顿说：“这部电影里有的，都是我所表现过很多次的人物。有的时候，面对着自己的人物，我会不知所措，所以我就会从生活中、从自己以往的作品用借用人物出来。在创作这部电影的时候，我就回想起了自己的同学，那些奇奇怪怪的老师和家里的邻居之类的。而且，为了找到影片所要呈现出的那种恐怖片的特色，我又翻出了很多我小时候看的环球公司的恐怖片，希望从中找到灵感，这些诸如《弗兰肯斯坦的房子》、《德莱库拉的房子》这样的影片给了我很多的提示。我很喜欢这样的恐怖片，也很喜欢这种哥特、黑暗和喜剧混搭的感觉。这个故事其实是从玛丽·雪莱的《弗兰肯斯坦》的小说中演变来的，我把它安排在了一个孩子的身上，放在了一个家庭的背景下讲述，在恐怖之余，更多了很多家庭、温馨的内容。这些，都是我最爱的素材。”

　　定格动画再现影坛

　　这几年，定格动画作品几乎是“爆炸式”地出现在影坛之上，从阿曼德公司的《超级无敌掌门狗》开始，这两年影坛上数得过来的定格动画作品就有《玛丽和马克思》、《鬼妈妈》、《了不起的狐狸爸爸》、《通灵男孩诺曼》等等等等。而且，这也不是波顿第一次制作定格动画了，2005年的僵尸新娘，就是一部定格动画。

　　《科学怪狗》2010年在伦敦开拍，剧组为了这部影片建造了巨大的工作间，在这个工作间里，他们创造了一个家庭阁楼、一片墓地和一所高中校园的内景。在安排好工作项目并分配好人员之后，整个摄影棚被分成了30个独立的区域，分块拍摄影片的情节和镜头。影片的主角－－小狗火花的玩偶被制作得相当“巨大”－－和影片中的人物玩偶的大小相比，火花的体积是非常骇人的。在制作人物的时候，波顿使用的是和拍摄《僵尸新娘》时一样的方法，先用不锈钢做骨架，然后再在骨架外面用硅胶制作身体，最后再用布料和毛发覆盖。拍摄出来的静态图片被导入电脑之后，再用CG的方式进行处理，才能得到一帧图像。因为很多人物的关节非常细小，所以市面上没有现成的螺栓和螺母可以购买，剧组专门请来了一位瑞士的钟表师，让他用自己的工具和技术手工制作螺栓和螺母。

　　和波顿合作多年的艺术指导里克·海恩里奇斯全程参与了设计场景、制作玩偶和后期制作的全部过程，他说：“这部影片中的很多场景，比如说小镇、街道，都是极其复杂的场景。我们既要表现出真实感，又要在片中展示出一种波顿式的黑暗感来，这是很复杂的。在制作玩偶上，我们除了放大了小狗火花的比例外，其他的一切都是严格按照人物的比例来制作的。这个小镇的设计灵感，来自波顿所长大的地方，确切地说，这是战后西南美国的常见小镇。有些超现实的设施和物件的设计，来自于《剪刀手爱德华》。”

花絮

·这是蒂姆·波顿第一次翻拍自己的作品。影片的原作是1984年的短片《科学怪狗》。
·这是从《大鱼》以来，波顿的第一部没有约翰尼·德普的影片；是自《断头谷》以来，第一部没有海伦娜·伯翰·卡特的影片。
·这是薇诺娜·瑞德第三次和蒂姆·波顿合作，他们的上一次合作还是21年前的《剪刀手爱德华》。
·影片让波顿、薇诺娜·瑞德和凯瑟琳·欧·哈拉重新聚首，这三个人上一次合作还是在1988年的《甲壳虫汁》之中。
·约翰·奥古斯特2006年就为影评重新撰写了部分剧本，可是他直到2009年1月才和剧组签约。
·本片中，著名演员克里斯托弗·李扮演了一个叫做德古拉的角色，这是36年以来，他第一次在银幕上扮演德古拉。在此之前最近的一次，克里斯托弗·李扮演德古拉，还是在1976年的法国电影《德古拉和儿子》中。而在《德古拉和儿子》之前，克里斯托弗·李几乎是那个年代里扮演德古拉的唯一人选。
